My Own Personal Base
COOHEM 2026 SPRING & SUMMER

I knew that I wanted to achieve something, and set out to find a place where I could base myself and turn my visions into reality. What I found was a quiet corner of the city, where I rented an apartment and allowed my dreams to flourish. It was a 15-minute walk from the station to this little base of mine, and there was constant traffic down the wide roads leading to the city center. As I gazed up at the cityscape which stretched into the distance, inside my head my thoughts flew back and forth, from one thing to the next. I walked every day through this neighborhood, which seemed at times to watch over and support me, at other times more distant and inclined to let me sink or swim on my own.

Many new stores have established themselves here, but between them I catch glimpses of this area’s timeless character, and this brings back memories. I wonder how these streets view me now, a person who has cycled through failures and successes, and who has managed to grow a little. I can still feel that warm, familiar nudge of encouragement against my weary back; that same unobtrusive, comforting presence. I am grateful to be here, in a place which will always accept me for who I am.
