This city changes at a dizzying pace. While we can still catch glimpses of how it existed in the past, time continues to march steadily forward. The dilapidated hotel by a park which started as an experimental forestry station, traditional shopping streets filled with the warmth of the regular customers who frequent them, the back alleyways which inhabit our memories – all such things will eventually change and be transformed.

It had been some time since I walked through these streets, and it was comforting to feel the familiarity of parks and shops which I recognized, but I also felt a sense of newness in the unfamiliar buildings I passed. Even as this city continues to evolve, many of the same faces still populate the changing landscape, and it is this balance between constancy and change which gives this place its special charm. Not everything is destined to become new, but neither do things just remain as they were.

In the 70 years since our company’s founding, our path forward has also been accompanied by change and constancy, much in the same manner as this urban area. We have continued to go through the process of renewal, while also retaining the valuable people who make our work possible, and this is what allows us to continue our creative production of knitwear to this day.

From now on, as always, we will value all that we are and have been, while welcoming the changes the future will bring.
